6th Meeting of The Next Generation’s Roundtable in Tokyo
2020年４月28日に次世代ラウンドテーブル（NGRT）3期の第6回目のミーティングがZoom会議を使用してオンライン上で開催された。今回のテーマは、「コロナウイルス（COVID-1９）による影響」で、NGRTの参加メンバーの有志より問題定義のプレゼンテーションがなされた。一人目のスピーカーのレオ・リンさんは、地政的な見地から中国や世界に対する影響について取り上げ、二人目の今津正太郎さんは世界経済の切り口からコロナウイルスの影響について話した。その後、藤崎会長より２つの問題が投げかけられ、「コロナウイルスによって世界はどのように変わってしまうと思うか」「国連やWTOなどの国際機関はどのように対処すべきか」について、小グループに分かれて議論を行った。参加者らは、世界の動きや個人の体験をもとに活発に意見を交換した。対面でのイベントを開催することが難しい中でも、オンラインの活用によって繋がりを保ち議論を続けることの大切さを見出した会合となった。次回５月のNGRTもオンラインにて開催予定。
The 6th meeting of the Next Generation’s Roundtable in Tokyo (NGRT) was held on April 28th, 2020, using Zoom video conferencing. The theme for the 6th meeting was “Impacts of the corona-virus (COVID-19) outbreak.” Two of our members gave a brief presentation to lead-off the discussion. Mr. Leo Lin brought up the issue of geopolitical implication of covid-19, and Mr. Shotaro Imazu mentioned global economic impacts. After they successfully outlined the current issues, our president Mr. Fujisaki posed two questions to discuss in a small group. 1) Do you think the world is going to change totally? If you think so, how? 2) How should the international organizations such as the UN or WTO deal with the current problems? Participants examined the current issues from the world movement and their personal experiences. It was a nice opportunity to have a virtual meeting together during the time the members have to be apart. The Zoom format was very successful and the next meeting in May is going to be held at Zoom again.
