4th Meeting of The Next Generation’s Roundtable in Tokyo
2020年2月12日(水)、次世代ラウンドテーブル（NGRT）3期の4回目となるミーティングが開催された。今回は、楽天執行役員の北川拓也氏にお越しいただいた。北川氏はハーバード大学に進学し数学、物理学を専攻し最優等の成績で卒業。その後、ハーバード大学院にて博士課程修了し、現在、楽天株式会社執行役員を務めている。
基調講演では、「人間の幸福」に関する豊富なデータを用いて、論理物理学者でもあった北川氏が感じている矛盾・疑問についてお話いただいた。また、テーブルごとでのディスカッションでは、「人間の幸福をはかる尺度としてのKPI（Key Performance Indicator,業績評価指標）は何であるべきか」というテーマについて、GDPを指標として用いることの妥当性やテクノロジーの利用についてなど幅広く議論が行われた。参加者らは性別・国籍・年齢などのバックグラウンドが異なる人々について一つの尺度で幸福度をはかることの難しさを感じていたようだった。個人や組織にとっての幸福とは何かを考え見直す時間となった。
On February 12th, the 4th meeting of the Next Generation Roundtable (NGRT) the 3rd Round was held at Roppongi Hills Club. We welcomed Mr. Takuya Kitagawa, Chief Data Officer and Managing Executive Officer at Rakuten as a speaker.
In the keynote speech, Mr. Kitagawa used a wealth of data on “human well-being” and talked about the contradictions and questions he felt. Then, the lively discussion on tables was followed with the theme of “What should be a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) as a measure of human well-being?” The participants could understand how difficult it is to measure happiness on a single scale for people with different cultural backgrounds.
