2nd Meeting of The Next Generation’s Roundtable in Tokyo
2019年11月6日、次世代ラウンドテーブル（NGRT)3期の２回目となるミーティングが開催された。
今回は、山本康正氏にお越し頂いた。山本氏は現在アメリカのシリコンバレーでベンチャー投資家やハーバード大学の客員研究員としてご活躍されている。
山本氏のスピーチでは、他国の大企業の取り組みを交えながら、自動運転システムやキャッシュレス決済の例を用いてインターネットテクノロジーの発展を概説していただいた。また、日本がAIテクノロジーの導入において、中国やアメリカと比べて大きく遅れをとっていることに関しても詳しく述べられた。
各テーブルでは、先端技術が社会に与える影響やその中で政府や企業の方針、消費者の意識に関する意見にとどまらず、今後激化が予想される社会問題とAI技術を絡めた意見まで、各々の会社や学校における取り組みや深い知識に基づいた興味深い意見が飛び交った。グローバルな視点から日本の現状を見つめ直すと同時に、今後のさらなる技術の発達とそれに伴う社会の変化を見据え、先端技術との自分の関わり方を改めて問われるセッションとなった。
The 2nd meeting of the Next Generation Roundtable (NGRT) was held on November 6, 2019 at Roppongi Hills Club, starting off with a keynote address by Mr. Yasumasa Yamamoto, who works as a venture capitalist and a visiting researcher at Harvard University.
Mr. Yamamoto outlined the development of technologies using examples of automated driving systems and cashless payments. He also mentioned that Japan is left behind U.S. and China for AI technology.
In discussion table, various points of view such as the influence of advanced technology on society, rules of regulations from governments or companies, consciousness of consumers, and the meaning of AI technology in the context of the social issues. It was a fruitful session in that the participants could discuss further development of technology and social changes.
