米国大使公邸昼食会
2020年1月28日（火）、アメリカ大使館のジョセフ・ヤング臨時代理大使のご厚意により、米国大使館公邸にて日米協会コーポレートメンバーに参加頂く初の昼食会を開催した。日米協会の法人会員8社、アメリカ大使館からは政治・通商・広報等を担当する高官が出席した。ヤング臨時代理大使より日米関係に於ける大きな課題についてのブリーフィングを頂いた後、昼食を取りながら安全保障、エネルギー、IP等の二国間の産業経済に関する事項、更には米中や日韓関係とも関連付けた議論が闊達に行われた。出席各社には各分野に精通した米外交官と喫緊の課題について意見交換できる機会の持つ意義は大きかったようだ。
On January 28, 2020, the first AJS Luncheon Meeting for limited corporate members was held at the U.S. Ambassador’s Residence by special courtesy of Mr. Joseph M. Young, Chargé d Affaires ad interim of the Embassy. Business leaders from eight corporations and senior officials from the U.S. Embassy attended. CDA Young began the meeting with a brief overview of U.S.-Japan bilateral relations, followed by a lively discussion on issues, such as the economy and industry, security, energy, intellectual property, as well as U.S.-China and Japan-Korea relations. We were happy that our corporate members had the opportunity to exchange opinions with U.S. diplomats on these issues.
