第2回アメリカボウル大会 開催報告
2019年7月20日(土)、日米協会主催の第2回アメリカボウル大会を上智大学にて開催しました。東京・神奈川・埼玉・千葉・茨城・群馬・栃木・静岡・愛知・山梨・長野・新潟から52校、総勢約150名の高校生が参加しました。
このクイズ大会は、アメリカの文化、歴史、地理などについてクイズが出題されます。決勝戦に進んだ上位3校には、夏休みのアメリカ研修が贈呈されます。参加者全員が優勝を目指してチーム一丸となり、楽しみながらクイズに答える様子が見られました。また休憩時にはカルチャーイベントを行い、さまざまな学校から集まった高校生同士が英語を通して交流し、親睦を深めました。
準決勝・決勝戦には、高円宮妃殿下にもご臨席いただき、予選を突破した上位12校の熱き戦いをご観戦いただきました。準決勝は描画問題・地図問題・ジェスチャー問題から構成され、決勝戦は選択問題、筆記問題、組み合わせ問題、早押しクイズと趣向を凝らした問題が出題されました。
これらの結果、優勝は慶應義塾高校、２位は開成高校、3位は開智未来高校となりました。この3校の参加生徒と引率者は8月にアメリカ研修としてワシントンD.C.にて1週間の研修を行うことができます。現地では、在アメリカ合衆国日本国大使館、経団連米国事務所の訪問や、議会議事堂やアメリカ国防総省(ペンタゴン)の訪問、現地の高校生との市内見学、ワシントンD.C.日米協会元理事長宅でのイベントなどのプログラムを体験します。
今回の第2回アメリカボウル大会は高校生がアメリカに興味を持ち、高校生同士が交流できる良い機会となりました。ご参加いただきました皆様ありがとうございました。
The 2nd America Bowl was held with about 150 high school students from 52 school. The questions asked in this quiz event were related to American history and culture, with the purpose to create interest to America. Every team worked together to achieve their goals of winning the first place in the competition. During a break time, we had a “culture event,” program where every student, regardless of their schools, interacted with each other and made friendship.
At the semi-final and the final round, Princess Takamado attended to watch the competition. The semi-final round was consisted of three parts, picture, map, and gesture quiz. And the final round was conducted by multiple choice questions, writing and fastest finger first. As a result of the final round, Keio High School team became a champion for the 2nd America Bowl. Kaisei High School team earned 2nd place, and the 3rd place went to Kaichi Mirai High School. The top three teams were awarded a trip to the Washington, D.C. We believe this event could have been a great opportunity for the participants to become interested in America and to interact with other students.
