The 1st Meeting of the 5th Round: Next Generation’s Round Table in Tokyo 2021-2022
The first meeting of the fifth Next Generation Round Table in Tokyo (NGRT) session was held at the Roppongi Hills Club on October 26, 2021. This time, we welcomed Mr. Kazuya Endo, Deputy Director-General of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, who gave a lecture with a title of “Japan and China: How, where… can we cooperate?” Participants discussed three questions addressed: “Where can Japan (+US) and China find common interests?”, “Was the engagement with China a failure?” and “What will the relationship among Japan, the US, and China look like in 2050?” It was a valuable opportunity to discuss the future relationship among Japan, the US, and China, after examining the current situation in China from various aspects such as politics, economy, and culture.
