AJS Monthly Program in August “On U.S.-Japan relations, Ukraine, and China”
On August 24, the AJS held its first online monthly meeting of 2022, featuring Joseph Nye, Distinguished Professor of International Politics at Harvard University. He discussed with President Fujisaki the future development of the invasion of Ukraine and its impact on the Indo-Pacific region, China’s global policy and its relationship with Western industrialized countries, North Korea’s nuclear weapons strategy, and the fierce division of public opinion in the United States. A question-and-answer session with our members followed, which led to more in-depth discussions. In each of the discussions, we were able to experience the valuable insight of the professor who has been prominent in international politics for more than a half century.
