Donation to the damage by the wildfires in Maui,

As a result of a request to our members to support for the people devastated by the wildfires in Maui, we have so far received a large amount of donations, \3,983,500 in total, from many corporate members, especially 1,000,000 yen from Imperial Hotel, sister Societies throughout Japan such as Kurume, Tokyo-Tama and our individual members. We are delighted to announce that the equivalent amount in US dollar has been duly remitted to Japan-America Society of Hawaii (JASH) as of today with the following message by our President Ichiro Fujisaki.

Dear Mr. Alexander Jampel,

Dear Ms. Reyna Kaneko,

To friends in Hawaii State,

We have watched with sorrow the devastating wildfires last month. Members of America-Japan societies around Japan send our deepest condolence for the casualties and extend helping hands to those affected in the area. We received around 3.973 million yen from our members, including our sister Societies in Kurume and Tokyo-Tama and corporate members, in particular 1.0 million yen from Imperial Hotel, Ltd. The total amount may be supplemented by additional donations. Although this amount would cover only a small portion of the amount needed, we hope it would be accepted as a token of our friendship. Please deliver this to appropriate people or organizations. Our thoughts are with you. We all pray for the swift recovery.

I am writing this on behalf of America-Japan societies in Japan.

Ichiro Fujisaki
